Status - Permanent.Location - Burwood Hospital.Salary - Starting from $51,820 - $58,914.

Kia hiwa r M te tnga - About the Role We have an opportunity for a Kaiawhina / Allied Health Assistant to join us at Burwood Hospital as part of our wider Older Person - s Health and Rehabilitation Service. This role is within an inpatient setting working with people who have communication or swallowing difficulties and their whnau.
You will work closely with a team of Speech Language Therapists and be part of a wider multidisciplinary team. Part of the position also involves assisting the Speech Language Therapists in the running of the Videofluoroscopy clinic (where Speech Language Therapists use X Ray to assess swallowing function). You will bring a strong desire to be part of a team and an eagerness to be your best and be dedicated to continued learning and striving for the best patient outcomes.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to follow direction are essential to your success as you assist your Allied Health colleagues in delivering treatment in a rehabilitation hospital environment. You will also have good basic computer skills. Applicants who do not hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 3) Health Assistance Strand from Careerforce will be required to enrol in this course if successful in being appointed.
